A message from the Board of Directors

First, we are highly committed to the people we serve; we believe in their potential and, as followers of Christ, we believe every person we meet is worth every effort to help them. In God’s eyes, we all belong.

Second, we are proud Albertans: we want what is best for all the cities we serve and all its neighbourhoods. We are committed to working with everyone trying to alleviate the impact of poverty and meet some of the challenges we face as a community.

Third, we believe lives can change, with the right help. By providing the “right help” calls on us to perform with the highest degree of skill and sophistication possible. This project is using what we term “Housing Plus”, the “plus” is The Mustard Seed programming and support systems that results in permanent change.

Commitment and inspiration must be backed by insight, high standards and professionalism in operations. That is why we have invested heavily in research, design and planning for our affordable housing project. We want this to be successful and we have learned a great deal as the project has evolved.

Finally, we live day to day in profound gratitude to the thousands of volunteers and financial supporters who make The Mustard Seed’s work possible. We know we are dependent – and glad to be so.

Now we are asking the people of Calgary to help The Mustard Seed address homelessness in a significant way, through the Outside In campaign. I hope you will join us – because without your compassion and generosity, hundreds of people will remain outside the boundaries of hope. And every dollar raised means more changed lives among those who are truly homeless.

Thank you to all of our supporters who truly believe in making Calgary a better city.

Together we are Building Community, Growing Hope, and Supporting Change
